Carolina on the Tennessee/North Carolina state line, "Jenks
Knob", locally referred to as "Shower Falls", is a private

surrounds the property on three sides while on the Tennessee side it joins
the Cherokee National Forest Bald River Wilderness area. |

historic downtown Tellico Plains, Tennessee along the white water Tellico
River with one of the most beautiful drives in the eastern United States,
passing numerous small water falls, rivers, Bald River Falls,
"Pheasant Fields Trout Hatchery or 18.4 miles from the discovered by
Ponce de Leon in 1640 small town, thriving mountain metropolis of Murphy,
North Carolina. |
 |
The main
road passing through Jenks Knob continues on the ridgeline for
approximately 2.5 miles where it meets Beaverdam Bald. The road can be
gated giving you total privacy. Jenks Knob is situated right @ 4000 mls ft
and has spectacular views like those from the movie "Last of the
Mohicans" in all directions, and rightfully so as the movie was
filmed in Western North Carolina. Last timbered early in the twentieth
century the trees are large and majestic poplar, hickory, white and red
oak, birch cherry, maple, ash, and spruce with mountain laurel,
rhododendron, and wildflowers that decorate the land make you feel like
your in the enchanted forest. Walking the property it is not uncommon to
be startled by an explosion of grouse taking flight or the sound of wild
turkeys as they move through the woods. Deer, black bear, and wild boar
abound in the area and hunting is excellent. |
|

|
There
are many beautiful and accessible building sites on this property with so
much more to be discovered. Currently a small unobtrusive cabin,
cantilevered over large rocks, looks to the south over seven rows of
majestic mountains. |
|

|
Even in
the middle of summer you can get chilled from cool mountain breezes while
rocking on the covered front porch. On the lower part of the property is a
mountain creek and a small waterfall. Dropping approximately 15 feet the
clear, ice cold mountain water provides a refreshing shower after a day in
the woods. |
 |
If
fishing is your passion the Tellico River is a stocked water way providing
world class fly fishing while a hike into the upper part of the Bald River
is the spot to fish for wild trout. Licenses are required as well as for
hunting on both the Tennessee and North Carolina sides. |
